Overview
The PulseBand Chair converts sitting energy into power while actively improving your posture.
Key Components
- Piezoelectric Frame: Generates electricity from micro-movements
- Posture Mesh: Embedded pressure sensors detect alignment
- Haptic Lumbar: Gentle vibrations correct slouching
- Power Hub: USB output charges your devices
How It Works
- Natural micro-movements compress piezoelectric elements
- Posture sensors analyze spinal pressure distribution
- Haptic feedback gently nudges you upright when slouching
- Harvested energy charges devices via built-in USB port
Scientific Explanation
Piezoelectric materials (like PZT ceramics) generate electric charge when mechanically stressed. The chair's frame contains piezoelectric composites that convert the kinetic energy of sitting, shifting, and leaning into electrical current. A full day of sitting can generate approximately 2-5 watt-hours — enough to charge a smartphone. Pressure sensors use resistive sensing arrays to map body weight distribution in real-time.
